Since I was little I always said that I was gonna go to Africa. For a long time it felt like those were just words, but as I began to pray about where God wanted me to go. I asked him to lead me and show me. I originally was planning to apply for the Bangladesh trip, because a missionary friend I knew from our church was over there. As I prayed for Bangladesh and the missionaries I didn’t really feel the burden for that country. When I went to apply for the AYC trip to Bangladesh it said that the vaccine was required for this trip. It was very sad because I really wanted to go, but I didn’t feel I could morally take the vaccine. I just gave it to God and went to look at the other trips. The only overseas trip that didn’t require the vaccine was Africa. I knew right away that God had shut one door, only to open this one. (Rev. 3:8) I believe this is the first step for me to follow the calling God has placed on my life!
