In 2015, at NAYC, I sat in my chair with an AYC flier in my hand. As the promo videos began playing, I was intrigued. I had never even heard of Apostolic Youth Corps before, and I was amazed that I could go on a missions trip across the globe with fellow Apostolic students.
I still remember praying that night, and felt this burden developing for missions. I begged my parents to let me apply, but they didn’t think I was ready for something like that. I was barely old enough to be approved, but I was determined to keep asking until they thought I WAS ready! I asked to go on every missions trip I saw listed each year. The answer was “not yet” each time. While I had a lot of growing up to do, that burden and passion never dwindled. So…this past summer, I felt like I might get a “yes” if I asked. I did!
I knew that I was supposed to go to Malawi. That same trip was offered in 2015, when I was much too young to go. I didn’t think this destination was a coincidence. I saw it as a sign that this trip was always meant for me…it was just delayed. (God does that sometimes!) I daily prayed for God’s will to be done, and I submitted my application the first day it was offered online. I know God has been calling me to do this for QUITE some time, and I believe that He WILL make a way for me to do so!
If you can give to support this trip, it would be greatly appreciated…but MORE THAN ANYTHING, please keep me in your prayers as I go on this amazing, life-changing adventure to Malawi this summer. I believe God is going to use our group of student missionaries to truly minister in “the warm heart of Africa”—Malawi. Thank you so much for all your continued prayers, and support!
